Simplyhealth Great Women's 10k 2018 · 10 June 2018 ·

We help the babies, children and young people treated at Scotland's largest children's hospital, the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow. We fund medical equipment, research, play programmes and family support services to ensure that our young patients receive the best possible care and experience.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Last September my son Nathan was born. What should have been the happiest day of my life very quickly became the most terrifying and stressful time of my life. Nathan was born with an undiagnosed Congenital Diaphramatic Hernia (CDH). He was immediately transferred to the QEUH in Glasgow where he underwent life saving surgery at 8 days old. We spent 4 weeks in the NICU before he was well enough to go home.

The staff in the QEUH were absolutely fantastic and the facilities they provided to help support my husband and I were amazing. From support groups down to the mini boo's to help make me feel more connected and bond with my baby. This was all made possible by the Glasgow Children's Hospital charity. This year to help give something back I'm going to run the women's 10k in Glasgow. It will get my fitness back and raise money for an amazing charity very close to my heart. Please dig deep in your pockets and help me smash my target
