Our beloved Prophet peace be upon him said, The best charity is giving water to drink. (Ahmad) Unsafe water is the single biggest obstacle to the health of communities in the developing world. When people are denied access to clean water their hygiene and health suffer. Poor hygiene means children get sick and miss school. Small children are especially vulnerable to cholera and diarrheal illnesses, and unsafe water compromises their immune systems making it difficult for them to fight illnesses. With your help, we can bring clean water to rural communities in Azad Kashmir, giving them safe water for drinking, cooking and cleaning, water for their crops and animals, and the chance to break out of the poverty cycle.
