KPMG Lomond Hospice Challenge · 8 February 2008

Hospice care eases the physical and emotional pain of death and dying. Letting people focus on living, right until the end. But too many people miss out on this essential care. Hospice UK fights for hospice care for all who need it, for now and forever.

Story

KPMG Glasgow is organising a Mountain Challenge on 14 June 2008 with staff, friends, familiies and guests completing one of three challenges to support our staff charity, 'Help the Hospices'.  All monies raised through Help the Hospices will be split between our two local hospices: St Margaret of Scotland and The Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice.

The challenges are:

THE EVEREST CHALLENGE
Teams of 4 will ascend and descend the cumulative equivalent of the world's highest mountain (8,848 metres) following a pre-designated route over the hills around Loch Lomond.  A challenging event for fit mountaineers.

THE ELBRUS CHALLENGE
Teams of 4 to 8 will undertake an ascent of Ben Lomond, achieving a cumulative elevation gain between them of the height of Europe's highest mountain (5,642 metres).  A challenge on its own and of special attraction for families and those looking to ascend their first Munro.

THE EIGER CHALLENGE
Named after one of the world's iconic mountains, this three stage event over 38kms involves canoeing on Loch Lomond, a cycyling stage along a good track and a final stage on foot.

Our goal is to raise at least £60,000 for Help the Hospices and we really need your help to achieve this.  Please 'dig deep' and help us to support the important work being done at St Margaret's and Prince and Princess of Wales, provding specialist palliative care for people with life-limiting illnesses and support for their families and carers.

Donating through this site is simple and totally secure .  Help the Hospices receives the money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% is aadded to your gift at no cost to you.

Alternatively, cheques made payable to 'Help the Hospices' can be sent directly to Leanne Johnston, KPMG, 191 West George Street, Glasgow G2 2LJ.

If you are feeling particularly fit, or want to get fitter,...why don't you join us?  The more the merrier!

Many thanks, in advance, for your support.
