KRDP works with local NGOs to deliver improvements in health, education, water supply and sanitation in a remote village community in Eastern Uganda. Our partners decide the local priorities and carry out the work. We raise funds in UK to support them.

Story

Hello and thanks for visiting my fundraising page!!

Post race....

I have now run the half marathon and got round without walking or stopping at all in 2hrs 12 mins. The heavens opened at ten miles so at the finish I was very wet as well as being very weary!! Thanks to all who have sponsored me so far and for those who are still thinking about it then it's not to late as this just giving page will stay open for several months!! Plase see details below for more about the charity I am supporting.

Pre race.....

On Sunday 17 May 2009 I ran the Chester Half Marathon decided to raise money for Kimbuta Rural Development Programme (KRDP). This charity, founded in 2000 is made up of two parts: a registered charity based in Frodsham, Cheshire and a Non - Governmental Organisation in Uganda. KRDP helps to fund and support sustainable community projects in Eastern Uganda.  To find out more about the charity and the projects completed so far please visit www.krdp.org

At the end of July I am planning to travel to Uganda for 2 weeks with 11 others to see the completed schemes which the charity has already been involved with and to consider potential projects for the future.  Currently there is a new classroom block being built at a local high school which will incorporate a laboratory, enabling science to be taught in the new curriculum.  Once completed, equipment will be required for this science block and it maybe that money raised from this event will help fund this or alternatively go towards a future project.

Please sponsor me for this event  only if you feel able to at this difficult financial time.  Any donation, however small will go a long way in aiding future commmunity development projects for the people of Kimaluli-Butta, Eastern Uganda.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Kimbuta Rural Development Programme gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Thanks for your support

Sarah
