Story
Thanks for visiting my JustGiving fundraising page.
On 29th September 2018, I will be attempting to free-fall abseil London's ArcelorMittell Orbit at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. At a height of 262 ft, this is the biggest free-fall abseil in the UK!
Why am I dangling myself off what is otherwise a perfectly safe building?
In recent years, I have been affected by friends and family who have been handed what sounds like "a death sentence". I am talking about Cancer. For those it affects, being told 'you have cancer' can affect so much more than your health - it can also affect your family, your friends, your job, and even the ability to pay the bills.
But you’re still you. Macmillan Cancer Support get that. And, after over 100 years of helping people through cancer, they get what’s most important: that you’re treated as a person, not just a patient.
The support given by Macmillan from the day you are given a cancer diagnosis is a dedicated Macmillan Nurse. They help people living with cancer and their friends/families receive essential medical, practical and emotional support.
For every £28 raised, this could pay for a Macmillan Nurse for an hour. My goal is to fund raise £1000 to ensure those affected by cancer can continue to get the support they so desperately need from what is a very crucial charity.
If you would like to help me hit my target, I would be very grateful for any donation you can manage.
