Lincoln Community Larder aims to relieve poverty in Lincoln and the surrounding area through the provision of nutritious food and other basic amenities to people suffering from disadvantage and social deprivation.

Story

Hi!

I entered the ballot for the 2018 London Marathon, knowing full well that NO ONE gets a spot on their first try... except I did.

Anyone who knows me knows I am not a runner. But I am going to finish this race.

It seems silly to put myself though that much torture for nothing, and since I believe that charity begins at home, I would like to raise some money for the Lincoln Community Larder, our local food bank.  We have supported the Larder with food drives at the gym before, and the volunteers are always incredibly grateful and gracious despite being depressingly busy.

We in the CrossFit community look out for one another - none of my members would ever want for help, a place to sleep, or a meal if they needed it.  Some of our wider community are not that lucky, so I’d like to ask each of my friends to donate £5.

Just a fiver to help feed some of the most vulnerable families in Lincoln, the city that adopted me and takes such good care of me.

Just a fiver to help spur me on to complete 26.2 miles.

I will finish that race if it kills me.

Please give a fiver to help me believe that it was worth it!

Much love and thanks in advance,

Kristen
