Story
I’m walking 60 miles in June to transform the future of pancreatic cancer. This challenge and cause means a great deal to me because my dad has stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He has been battling for a year with continuous palliative chemo. He is a fighter and I’m so proud of his bravery. He was just shy of 70 when diagnosed. He has so much to live for and all we can hope for is some more time with him. He is an incredible dad and papa. My husband also lost 2 uncles (brothers and both in their 50’s) to it. I know cancer touches so many of us. Pancreatic cancer is the deadliest common cancer. Half of people die within three months of diagnosis. Decades of underfunding mean we still don’t have the tests and treatments to tackle this disease. By donating to my challenge, you’re making support available for people now and funding world-leading research. Just £27 could fund a Support Line nurse to answer calls for an hour so no one has to face a diagnosis alone. Pancreatic Cancer UK goes above and beyond for everyone affected by this brutal disease. That’s why I’m fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK. Your donations will bring more breakthroughs through research, more change through campaigning, and more support through our expert nurses. Together, we can bring more than hope to people affected by pancreatic cancer.
