Story

Pauline was diagnosed with grade 3 breast cancer in January 2017. Since then, she has battled through 3 separate surgeries and months of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. She was treated at the Macmillan Unit of the West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St. Edmund's, where she was known for her collection of FABULOUS multi-coloured wigs and determined outlook.

As with many cancer stories, complications arose and Pauline fought off two bouts of sepsis, with dangerously low white blood cell counts. She also had her thyroids removed in November 2017, which thankfully returned clear of any cancer cells. She had her last chemotherapy dose in September 2018 and had a clear CT scan. Many cheers to remission, long may it last!

As the girlfriend of Pauline's youngest son, Oli, I have known her for over 10 years. I have spent many, many evenings enjoying the wonderful company and delicious food that always abounds in the Daniels' household at Paines Manor (as well as a cheeky gin and tonic or two!). I am sure many reading this page have experienced the same. Through social media outlets (she is basically the queen of Twitter!), she has met and inspired many others with her honesty, bravery, and effervescent personality.

In honour of Pauline and many others in our lives who are fighting, have fought, or will fight cancer, please consider donating to the Macmillan Cancer Research fund for the 2019 London Marathon.
