We’re the UK’s leading bowel cancer charity. We’re determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer. Our vision is a future where nobody dies of the disease.

Story

It’s almost time for Team - climbing for a cure to peak the 3 highest mountains across the UK within 24 hours!

**WHY WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT**

We are doing this In honor of our amazing late brother in law, Krunal Sharma who we sadly lost in December 2021 to bowel cancer at the age of 35, leaving behind his wishes with us, his daughter, wife, sisters and family. One of Krunal’s final wishes was for us to raise awareness of this indiscriminate disease so others do not have to experience the same things he did. Finding a cure for this disease is still ongoing and every little donation that we make supports charities like Bowel Cancer UK and many others to invest in research and potential cures.

For those who knew Krunal, can imagine how he broke into hysterics when he heard that we were going to take on the challenge of climbing UK's 3 highest peaks in 24 hours. “So Krunal, even though you laughed and said we won’t get up these three mountains, we will give it our best go”. Lol

We are 2 of 3 brother-in-laws (Ajay and Hinesh) to Krunal taking part in this challenge. The 3rd, Amit who is the eldest,  wanted to join us but due to “injury” 😝will not be able to take part this time round. We're sure Amit will be cheering us on throughout the weekend.

**The Extreme Challenge**

We are taking on one of the UK’s most difficult hiking challenges: THE NATIONAL 3 PEAKS CHALLENGE taking place on July 23rd. The challenge involves climbing the UK’s 3 highest mountains within 24 hours, a total hike of 23 miles and ascending 3064 metres in height. We’ll begin in Scotlands Ben Nevis, then travel down to the Lake District to complete Scafell Pike through the night and finally over to Wales to the summit of Mount Snowdon.

Itinerary

  • 22nd July Travel to Scotland
  • 23rd July early morning - Climb Ben Nevis
  • 23rd July evening  complete Scafell Pike
  • 24th July early morning - Ascend and peak Mount Snowdon

*Ajays reflects on life with Krunal….*

A younger brother, full of drive and ambitions, striving to fulfil his dreams and passions. A young man with a huge heart full of love, laughter and lyrics which were incredibly contagious and brought people together from all walks of life. Simply said, he made every moment fun and joyful. Proud to stand by his side on the messy nights out, chauffeur him on road trips (with beers of course) and share the journey of becoming dads to daughters together.

*Hinesh’s experience with Krunal…..*

We didn’t share many memories but the memories that we did share were special, even if they were having jokes to and from hospital trips, talking about Manchester United, eating good food (we loved a curry) and that day out at lords. He always treated me like a brother from the moment I walked into the family and for that I am so grateful.

The hardest thing for me was when I knew time was up for Krunal, felt like a bad dream that a man who was my age and I had only met a couple of years ago and respected so much, was checking out. Krunal dreamed big and spoke with wisdom he was a true inspiration to everyone who met him.

All together we shared some amazing times, as a family we’ll sing your name until we meet again bro.

SO KRUNAL WE’LL MEET YOU IN THE CLOUDS IN JULY ⛅️  💪🏽
