In Memory of Mary

Krystal McCann is raising money for Alzheimer's Society
In memory of Mary Sidsaph
At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

We are raising money in memory of our mum/nan who suffered with Early Onset Alzheimer’s Dementia and sadly passed away on the 9th May 2020.

Anyone who has experience of loved ones with dementia knows how truly heartbreaking the disease is and how it robs you of your loved one. And it has been even more difficult to come to terms with because our mum was so young.

Our mum began to show signs of the disease in her early fifties but despite repeated attempts to diagnose, was told she was too young to have it. After many more attempts to seek help she was finally diagnosed when she was 60 years old. She was 62 when she passed away, with Alzheimer’s contributing to the deterioration in her quality of life in her final years.

As a family, we wanted to raise money for this cause to help others who are going through this experience, words cannot express how difficult it is.
