Hello!
We are looking to raise £2,500 for the Kirsten Scott Memorial Trust ("KSMT") by running 26.2 miles through the hills of Bavaria. The KSMT was set up in January 2012 in memory of Kirsten Scott, who passed away in October 2011 shortly after being diagnosed with cancer.
The KSMT provides a fund for people under the age of 26 in order for them to fulfil ambitions, enhance their personal development and make a positive contribution, either at home or overseas.
Kirsten was not only a loyal, dependable friend to those around her but was also the life and soul of the party; an adventurous and enormously fun person. These were traits that were often displayed in her fundraising efforts. From the epic Rob Roy challenge to the Luxembourg half marathon or the Peak District Escape, doing remarkable things to help others was very much Kirsten's style.
As five naive (or just plain foolish), novice runners taking on a marathon through the German country side, we thought it would be fitting to lend support to the KSMT with this adventure. Some of us are athletic, sporty types (Oliver) or have physiques befitting distance running (Paddy), whereas others are more at home with a pie in hand (yours truly) or in the pub (Adam and Lucy). However, we will all be relying on the kind of qualities that Kirsten possessed in spades, enthusiasm, vigour and determination, as well as the promise of fun at the finish line, to see us through to the end.
If you can support the KSMT at all, it would be much appreciated and would provide another kick of motivation as the big day draws closer!
