Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are 'Team Jack'. Lets introduce ourselves! Charlie, Bethan, Wendy, Leah, Kevin, Emma and Jason. We are all family and friends of Jack Berger. We are all running the Brighton Marathon and the Brighton10K in memory of Jack. Not all of us are seasoned runners so this will be the biggest physical challenge of our lives. Please help us raise enough for another life-saving mission for the KSS Air Ambulance!

Jack sadly passed away in November 2016 in a very tragic accident, he slipped backwards on the pavement and hit his head whilst walking his girlfriend to the bus stop. Even though it was a simple fall his injuries were so severe he was taken by Air Ambulance to a London hospital. A team of neuro surgeons operated and did everything they could to try and save him. Jack died 5 days before his 22nd birthday. 2 years before he had signed up to be an organ donor, urging the rest of the family to sign up as well. Wendy, his mum remembers his words, "Everyone needs to sign up, you don't need it when you are gone, give someone else the chance of life!" Even though Jack's life couldn't be saved he saved the lives of 4 people and changed many more by donating his organs and tissues. This would never have been possible if it had not been for the vital work of the KSS Air Ambulance.

Tomorrow is never promised to anyone, you never know if you or one of your loved ones will need the service of the KSS Air Ambulance. The service relies on our charitable giving. Let's support our heroes!l
