Story
I am aiming to walk/cycle/run 200KM over a 30 day period which will be really hard given my chronic health issues. However, that is nothing in comparison to the struggles of those in Yemen who have been facing the world’s worst humanitarian crisis for five years, battling crippling war, famine and cholera. Millions of people are starving, and there is virtually no healthcare system.
According to some reports, Yemen only has 10 health workers per 10,000 people.
The UN warns that the coronavirus pandemic could "delete Yemen from maps all over the world". We cannot let that happen. People are dying a horrible slow death and your donation can help.
100% of your donation will go directly to the cause. Please remember to opt for gift aid if you are a taxpayer.
Ummah Welfare Trust has launched an emergency appeal for suffering families in Yemen, the land of faith and wisdom. Through local partners, the charity is delivering emergency assistance to displaced and hungry families in Sana’a, Aden, Taiz and Hudaydah.
Women and children in Yemen today are displaced and hungry. It is our duty to come to their aid and support them with that which Allah has granted us.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
‘The people of Yemen have the most tender of hearts and softest of souls; and they are the most obedient (in the worship of Allah).’
[Ahmad]
Zakat, Sadaqah and Lillah can be given for this appeal (please specify)
I am fundraising in memory of my late father, grandads and uncle.
