In May, 26 members of #TeamKuits are taking part in the Great Manchester Run (10k and half marathon distances) to help raise money for Wood Street Mission.

In particular this year we are looking to raise funds to support their Smart Start School Uniform project.

Smart Start helps families at an incredibly expensive time of year, providing children with school uniform essentials. Having the right uniform helps children to fit in with their peers, enjoy school and fulfil their potential.

In 2021, they provided over 3,000 children with new school uniform and essentials before September.

Wood Street Mission is a children’s charity helping children and families living on a low income in Manchester and Salford. Wood Street Mission provide practical help to meet children’s day-to-day needs and improve their life chances, including clothes, bedding and baby equipment, toys and books, the costs of going to school, and holiday book clubs.

They also raise awareness about child poverty through communications, holding events and giving talks at schools, businesses and groups.

The charity helps thousands of children and their families every year, and all services are free for families to access on referral.
