Story
In 2017 I lost my Dad to pancreatic cancer. He was admitted to the University hospital Southampton just 10 days before he died and the staff at the hospital were amazing. They were always around to answer any questions we had and were incredible with the care they gave my dad. They understood that this was an incredibly difficult time for me and my family and were understanding when we often got cross or upset when there. I cannot praise the team that looked after my father enough for what they did for him and how they did their best to make him as comfortable as they could when we knew what was coming. There were many people around who gave us advice and supported us through what was without doubt the hardest time of my life.
What many people don’t realise is that although it is incredibly hard on the families of the person it is also difficult for the staff within the hospital to have to witness especially when it is young people loosing a parent for the first time. As I said earlier the support the staff there gave me and my family was incredible so I want to raise money to support them in continuing to help people for many years to come.
