Story

Please support Kyden in his challenge and share far and wide to raise money for our NHS!

Kyden is 90 years younger than Sir Captain Tom, but raising money for the same cause.

Kyden arrived in this world with bilateral congenital cataracts in his eyes and would have been left blind without the expertise of the NHS staff at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. He had eye surgery more than 10 times and spent much of his first years fighting for his sight. As the photos in the gallery show, his early years were challenging to say the least. He developed many secondary complications, including glaucoma, which will need to be monitored for the rest of his life. To this day he still visits Manchester Royal Eye Hospital for regular appointments.

At the age of 10 and still in primary school, Kyden's challenge, and huge undertaking, is to pass his EDEXCEL Higher GCSE in Mathematics during the first week of November 2020. Maths has always been a passion of his, and he just thrives on a good test. He is hoping to attain a grade 7 - 9, which is quite an achievement even for most 16 year old students.
