Story
Tuesday 1st December is also known as 'Giving Tuesday', so on this date, I am running 10k for a charity called OCD Action.
OCD Action is a charity I feel very strongly about. As some of you may know, I have suffered from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) in the past. Due to this, I finally sought help and attended Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in 2018.
This year has been a very difficult one for the OCD community. COVID-19 has not only made a lot of people's OCD worse, but it has left people isolated. Many of those who have been affected by the pandemic have faced long waiting times for treatment, or have even had their treatment stopped entirely.
At times like this, OCD Actions helpline is more important than ever.
Their helpline provides support, information and a listening ear to people struggling with the condition. Their Helpline team know how lonely and isolating OCD can be, and how difficult it is to be housebound with no-one to turn to, and are committed to ensuring people do not feel alone.
They have worked hard since March to help people through this time, making the difficult adjustment to working from home, and have continued to provide this point of stability and support. For many people during this time, the OCD Action Helpline is an absolute lifeline.
Please donate anything that you can, no matter how small. Every donation will make a massive difference.
£10 could pay for information to be sent out to help 20 people with OCD.
£50 could pay for one volunteer to be recruited and trained.
£100 could pay for the Helpline to be kept open for an entire evening.
Thank you
