I have been working with the YMCA for almost 4 years and I love it! Everyday I get to experience the impact that the Y makes in the community through programming, financial assistance, and more. Every year we raise money for our Annual Campaign which supports so much of our special programming and financial assistance. 

It is because of our Annual Campaign that we are able to offer programs like LiveStrong, which is a small group setting for cancer survivors to get tailored workouts that are meant for them to help rebuild their strength and confidence. Last year we were able to give out $216,000 in financial assistance that helps people have access to membership, provide discounts for summer camp, swim lessons, youth sports, and so much more!

One of my absolute favorite programs that I am a part of is our Angel Tree Drive! We invite our members that are on our lowest level of financial assistance to submit wish lists for their kiddos for Christmas. We then put their lists on a massive tree in our lobby where members, staff, and people in our community shop for the kids. Everything is totally anonymous but seeing the looks on the parents faces when they come to pick up gifts is one of the most rewarding moments!

The Y is so much more than a gym and swim and I hope you will consider donating. I donate every year back to the Y to support a place I love and the community we are in.
