Story
This Autumn, I’m taking on the Royal Parks Half Marathon to raise funds for the Sweaty Betty Foundation, and I’d love your support. I usually take on fitness challenges just for fun, but this one’s different 💖
Watching my little girl grow up (now 9!), and hearing the things she and her friends say about their bodies has reinforced how early self-doubt starts, and how important it is that girls grow up feeling strong, capable, and confident in their bodies.
Movement and sport can be a simple but powerful way to build that confidence (barriers aside), but only 15% of teenage girls are doing enough activity. When girls have the opportunity and are supported and encouraged to move in ways they enjoy, it can transform how they see themselves, and therefore their impact on our world.
Running particularly has pulled me through some of my darkest days. It’s where I feel most capable, most creative, and most "me". I want our girls to have the chance to find their version of that. I've also been in a 20 year love affair with Sweaty Betty activewear so this partnership feels right on a personal level too.
If you’re able to donate, I’d be so grateful. With funding, we will be supporting events to empower more girls to get active and feel good doing it. It will give me a massive boost around kilometre 17, when my legs are very much questioning my life choices. 💪
Thank you so much for your support.
Kylie
p.s. how cool is it that my daughter was the first one to donate.
