Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Our legacy is about the lives of others we touch before we shuffle off this mortal coil.  All of us hope to live a full and fulfilling life.  Full of joy and happiness and in perfect health to enjoy those magical moments.  We all want to share those special moments with those that we love and cherish dearly.

It doesn't always work out like that and everyday we hear of tragic stories that would bring a tear to a glass eye.  Family, friends and acquaintances who have been lost to this deadly disease.  These are often people who were not elderly and had a good innings.  They are husbands, fathers and brothers or wives, mothers and sisters.  The tragedy is in what remains behind after they have lost their battle.

Their fight against the disease is unbelievably courageous and I would suggest that if you are ever lucky enough to hear one of these people's stories that you do so.  It is soul enriching and your pity will be replaced by soaring admiration for what these sufferers have endured.  You will want to know these people and imbibe their passion for life because these are some of the bravest people in the world.  Their accomplishments as examples of what homosapiens can achieve rival some of the greatest discoveries in the modern world.

For a lot of people hospice is the place where you go to die with dignity.  You have fought the good fight but with each battle your body grows a little wearier.  It may be remission but for how long??  Our recover rate from the poison or the knife as we get older becomes slower and we are on borrowed time.  The good people at hospice provide respite for those in suffering but also for those nearest and dearest.  They provide counseling to help families to come to terms with their losses.  Cancer is the number 1 killer in the world today and hospice is there for everyone who has to deal with it.  It is a frightening time for everyone and to know that there is support to which you can turn to share your frustration and concerns is very comforting.

I would like to help hospice to continue to deliver such a fantastic service and I would ask you for a donation.
