Black Mountains Trek · 6 October 2018 ·

We provide a range of services in Herefordshire and the surrounding area to people living with a terminal illness. Care is free to patients, their families and carers. This is thanks to supporters taking part in events, visiting our shops, playing our Lottery, donating and leaving gifts in wills.

Story

I intended to impress you all by doing the 5 km Santa run but it's not happening so instead on the 6th of October, Rob and I will be walking 30 km on the Black Mountains.  Not sure that this is the shorter straw really; certainly not for Rob as I was running alone.  I was hoping for the run because i have found it almost impossible to run and cry at the same time.

Last year my Mum died from cancer.  She was well cared for at home by my dad until the very end when the situation became impossible and we were lucky enough to get a place for her at St Michael's Hospice just before Christmas.  If there are angels this is where they hang out; they looked after my mum with the dignity, respect and care that she deserved.  It is an incredible place, full of incredibly caring people.

If you can't spare any money then just spare a thought for the amazing people who work in such places.
