La Barbe Can, Can you · 26 June 2010

Shooting Star Children's Hospices is a leading children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. Whether lives are measured in days, weeks, months or years, we are here to make every moment count.

Story

The team from Reigate’s French restaurant La Barbe will be putting their best foot forward to raise money for Surrey’s CHASE Children’s Hospice by doing a high kicking cancan to this year’s Community Festival in Priory Park at 12.50pm on Saturday, 26th June 2010.

Starting off at the restaurant on Bell Street, the team will include owner Serge Tassi, head chef Laurent Pacaud and a team of waiting staff. They will be doing high kicks across to the park, where they will be joined by a professional dancers from the Reigate School of Ballet, who will then take centre stage and lead them into the finale.

Inspired by Bastille Night, which marks the beginning of the French Revolution on the 14th July, the traditionally French dance will bring a touch of glamour to the Community Festival , while raising much needed funds for Surrey’s only hospice dedicated to support children, and their families, with terminal or life limiting illnesses.
