Muscle Foundation GRIM Challenge · 4 December 2010

The Ladbrokes Coral Trust was established in 2017. The aim of the Trust is to bring colleagues together from both brands to raise money for local and national causes that are close to your hearts and help provide comfort and support to those who need it.

Story

Ladbrokes Muscle Warriors take on the GRIM challenge to raise funds for the Muscle Foundation to who provide Muscle Dreams for children suffering from muscular dystrophy.

So what is it all about?

Die Another Day for Muscle Dreams

The challenge is to run, walk or maybe even crawl over a few hills, wade through a couple of water filled ravines, run over puddle-strewn paths, perhaps crawl under some camouflage netting, jog through some stunning forest trails, get over some large man-made mounds and maybe through a few murky puddles before you cross the finish line! That’s it! Expect to get wet!

The charity already has the record for the single biggest group of fundraisers participating in the history of GRIM - this was achieved when nearly 100 Muscle Warriors™ raised £15,000 in 2009. With your support, we know that this year we will go even further...

What is muscular dystrophy? ~ A. Muscular dystrophy (MD) is a progressive muscle wasting disease that remains the single biggest genetic killer of children in our world today - in the UK alone, there are some 75,000 people being robbed of their mobility, independence and finally for those with the most severe type, predominantly children, their lives.

Muscle Dreams provide unforgettable experiences to children or young people in the afflicted by muscular dystrophy

Through this tailored initiative, the goal is simply to deliver fantastic and above all memorable experiences, enabling a child or young person with muscular dystrophy live a dream or perhaps fulfil a cherished ambition that perhaps a family simply cannot afford, whether it for example be meeting a famous TV celebrity chef or the school run of a lifetime

In understanding the issues faced by those with muscular dystrophy and through the support of a growing partner network, the foundation communicate with parents and/or guardians in assessing, planning, funding, organising and delivering each Muscle Dream, taking care of every detail, ensuring ultimately that the experience (be it recreational, educational or inspirational) is fulfiled to the best of their ability

As Muscle Dreams can cost anywhere between £250 to for example £5000, the charity is unable to fund every nomination received; all Muscle Dream nominations will however be acknowledged by the charity
