26 mile Mighty Hike In Memory of Julia Okon

Lagan College is raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support
In memory of Julia Okon
We're hiking a half or full marathon following the iconic Giants Causeway, taking in the dramatic views of Northern Irelands first UNESCO World Heritage Site and raising vital funds for people affected by cancer.

Story

On June 24th 2023, we are taking on a Mighty Marathon Hike along the Causeway Coast to raise money for people living with cancer. We wish to undertake this 26 mile trek in memory of Julia Okon, a dearly beloved member of our Year 12 group who was hugely inspirational in her own fundraising efforts for cancer charities.

There are x7 members in our marathon hike team and each member will walk the full 26 miles, fundraising £250 each in order to take part. Our team members consist of staff - Mrs Smyth, Mrs Lyon and Mrs Glass. Year 12 students - Cara Rose Currie, Louie Townsley, Nathan Rice and Ben Donnelly. Our team fundraising target is £1750. We would appreciate any support in reaching our team target. All funds raised will go towards funding Macmillan Support services for people living with cancer.
