Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. 

I wanted to challenge myself this year to do something I have never done - and something completely outside my comfort zone.

As some of you may know,  I am not naturally gifted in running and would often come last in all the cross country events at school or blatantly refuse to do anything related to running...

However over the years, I have come to tolerate running and would do the odd park run here and then (which is a massive thing as I could not run for longer than a minute before).  

Now, it's time to step up and do a half marathon, something I have historically said I would never do. What motivated me to do this is the opportunity to raise money for a fantastic cause, Friends of Blanche Nevile. I've seen first hand how the money has changed our children's lives at school and I want to be able to contribute to more life changing experiences in the future.

As we all know, funding for education is terrible and schools are struggling to make ends meet - often having to make really difficult decisions to try balance the budget. It shouldn't be that way and education should be a long term investment to shape and develop our young children's futures. 

In a nutshell, I would be eternally grateful if you could donate any money - no matter how big or small - to help our school create more special, life changing memories for our Deaf children. Thank you. Laila
