Steps is the leading charity working for all those whose lives are affected by childhood lower limb conditions. Everything we do is about valuing and supporting individuals, families and carers affected by conditions which have an impact on the legs, hips or feet.

Story

This year Shaun & I will be running the London marathon on Sunday 3rd October to raise money for Laila’s steps!

Our beautiful Laila was born with a condition called Fibula Hemimila, this is the absence of the fibula, which meant Laila was born with a shorter leg and only 3 toes.

At 19 months old Laila had a Syme’s amputation and just 3 months later had her first prosthetic.

Laila will be 4 in August and we can honestly say there is nothing she can’t do. She amazes us every day with her determination, confidence and love for life!

We created ‘Laila’s steps’ in 2019 and the money raised will be funding children’s summer camps for children with lower limb disabilities as well as supporting families that do not get funding for sports prosthetics to ensure as many children as possible have every opportunity they deserve!
