6 years ago my Grandma suffered a life-changing stroke, leaving her completely paralysed on her right-hand side, total loss of speech and a severe reduction in her cognitive ability. Before the stroke she was incredibly active, going to the gym or swimming every day well into her late 80s!

Stroke Association do amazing work for stroke survivors wherever they are in the recovery process. They help fund critical research to improve treatment as well as providing care and rehabilitation to rebuild lives. None of this would be possible without volunteers giving up their time and generous donations.

This year, I'll be attempting to run the London Marathon as it is an activity that my Grandma loved.
