Story

Born at the Social Coffee Club(SCC) the Misfits run club is a running collective of individuals, most of whom suffer (or have suffered) with poor mental health and attribute running(and the support from each other) to be massive in the journey to good mental health.

Misfits Run Club is open to anyone and everyone, we start together and end together (usually at the pub for a natter) but the distance, time and speed you do in between those two points is completely up to you.

Join us for run club, 5:30pm every Thursday starting at SCC, 282 Welford Road. Just turn up or message @misfitsrunclub or @socialcoffeeclub on Instagram.

Lamp (Leicestershire Action for Mental Health Project) provides independent community mental health advocacy to the people of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, including support to families and carers. You can find out more about the work they do locally at www.lampadvocacy.co.uk

Look out for us on Sunday 30th October in LAMP vests and rainbow socks, cheerleaders and beers at the finish line will be gratefully received.

About the charity

Mental Health is complex. Our advocacy work involves, listening, guiding, planning, supporting and ensuring their needs are properly considered. Mental Health cannot be ‘cured’ with one conversation, it takes time to form trust. Our advocates devote hours, days, months to provide the best support.
