On April 22nd 2011, four friends will be setting off on an ambitious journey to cycle over 1000 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats in aid of charity. After months of preparation (over a beer or 2!), we will be setting off from the southernmost point of mainland Britain and cycling approximately 100 miles each day. Weather and disasters permitting, we aim to complete the journey over 10 or 11 consecutive days of riding unsupported, carrying all necessary equipment, tools and clothes on our bikes. The drive behind such a challenge is to help support Lanarkshire Cancer Care Trust, a local charity from whom our families have already benefitted greatly during the illnesses of family members.
