I'm an idiot! I should know better but I've gone and done it anyway.

 

I jumped on the scales the other day and I am a biffa!

My fondness for chocolatey cake and frothy coffee coupled with my undeniable lethargy means that lardy boy needs to do some exercise.

 

I used to ride my bike to work everyday but the combination of that last hill before the office and easy access to a motorbike meant the pushbikes status as number 1 choice for the trip to work was usurped with minimal guilt.

 

So, I've dug the pushbike out of the shed intending to do something about it but I know what you're thinking.

Quick put it back in the shed, close the door and slink away hoping nobody saw you.

 

I decided I'd better make it difficult to get away with that so I've signed up to do The Bideford Boomerang, North Devon Hospice Charity Ride on June the 5^th.

That's only nine weeks time as I write this.

I'm doing the D route which is a nice hilly 67miles and after several months of doing almost nothing I've got just nine weeks to get fit enough to complete it.

Being a charity ride I've got no chance of backing out without lashings of shame, dishonour and guilt.

 

So if you've made it this far with my ramblings do the Hospice a favour and make it even more difficult for me to pike out by sponsoring me 50P or a quid and have a quiet, self satisfied smile at the pain you're sponsoring me to inflict upon myself.

If you really want to rub it in, do it whilst eating chocolatey cake and drinking frothy coffee.

 

What the hell was I thinking?
