Story

Our RNLI lifeboats in N. Ireland protect hundreds of communities through our 24-hour search and rescue service. The volunteer crew rely on the safest, most reliable lifeboats and modern stations to launch from to be able to save lives.

Larne Lifeboat station was established in 1994 and currently launch into the waters of East Antrim and the North Channel. There is currently an inshore D class lifeboat and an all-weather Trent Lifeboat.

N. Irelands unrivalled coasts and inland waters are valued by local communities and visitors alike. But the water remains an unpredictable environment that can catch people out. People will always need our help and we will always be there to answer that call.

Keeping our Larne lifeboat maintained, fuelled and ever ready to go to the rescue is expensive and we rely entirely on voluntary donations to ensure this service is maintained. Add to that crew training and kit, and the pounds start to add up. During the pandemic we have
still been offering a lifesaving service and are continuing to raise vital
funds.

We haven’t been able to take part in our traditional fundraising this year and rely on donations from the public to continue saving lives. Your donation will help support the running of Larne Lifeboat station and its lifesaving service.
