Without much thought, I said sure I'll do that! I'll hop on a plane, cross "the pond", land in the UK, join some friends, and battle through some of the toughest, over the top obstacle challenges ever attempted, all while covered in mud ;-) Sounds like fun, I know ;-). To prepare, I started training by trucking through forest trails, climbing mountain like stairs, gym weights, treadmills, and just completed a 10K. Tough Mudder is a challenge that you'd be remise to make it through on your own. Friends and found friends help each other make it through each challenge i.e. Arctic Enema, Mud Crawl, Wall Climb, Kong rings etc. This weekend, August 19th, I take on it all, with the support of some friends and a bunch of people I've yet to meet.

I'd love to extend this support to help our youth push through life's toughest challenge. Many people find themselves without space to call home or struggle to remain in a space that is home. Unfortunately, this includes an overwhelming number of our youth. Through this chosen challenge I hope to raise awareness and funds for an organization that goes above and beyond to help our youth in what can be the toughest challenge in their lives. StandUp for Kids is a charitable organization that helps at-risk and homeless youth across the US. They are nearly completely volunteer base and can be found in various major cities, including my hometown Chicago. StandUp for Kids provide street outreach for our youth. In their purple shirts they put foot to pavement, going out into the communities to find and serve the at-risk and homeless youth (amazing). StandUp for kids also provides mentoring, tutoring, apartment support and much more.

Please join me, this back to school season, in raising funds that will help our youth continue to be great as we send them support.
