On 20 July I raced and completed Ironman UK. It was the toughest thing I have ever done! Last year I broke my pelvis and learnt to walk again, a year on, after a LOT of training I completed the 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile HILLY bike and marathon run in 12 hrs 58 minutes. I thought a lot of my sister May as I was racing.

I am so lucky to be able to participate in triathlon, and I never take that for granted. My sister May has a severe genetic condition called Prader Willi syndrome. Although May is 26, she has the understanding of a toddler, extremely challenging behaviour, and many physical impairments including a lack of muscle, so she cannot walk far, uncontrollable obesity and spinal deformities. Looking after May is extremely challenging. Once a year May goes on holiday with Oxford Mencap http://www.oxfordmencap.org/services/. This is the absolute highlight of May's year and the charity take her to places she would not be able to go to normally such as Lego Land. This time also gives my family an extremely well needed rest.

I would like to raise money for Oxford Mencap because they are a small charity who make a huge difference in the lives of others with severe learning disabilities and their families, like May and my family. They do not have a budget to advertise and the money you donate will mean so much.
