Story
Hi thank you for taking the time to visit my site.
Isabel Hospice was my chosen charity when I was Lady Captain in 2008, this local charity does such a fantastic job for patients and their families in so many ways, they constantly need funds. Recently I was asked if I would consider taking part in the Inca Trail in Novemeber for Isabel Hospice and those of you who know me, know that I am always up for a challenge and especially for such a great cause.
Many of you will be saying, Laura is extremely fit with all the exercise she does is it a challenge? Yes is the answer, treking is a very different form of exercise especially in rough terraine, tough weather conditions and in high altitude with basic accomodation being in tents.I'm normally a 5* girl. This trek is outside my comfort zone, and will physically and mentally challenge me.
You may remember that in December I decided not to send Christmas cards but send emails to everyone I could, and donate what I saved to the charity.
January was totally alcohol free.
February I visited an altitude centre to experience training in high altitude.
March a group of us visited the Peak District to hike in extreme weather conditions, which highlighted how much more training we need to put in before November.
Training,I welcome anyone who wishes to join me out walking with my cheeky hounds as their conversation is fairly limited and there is always a nice cup of coffee at the end. Just give me a call.
I would appreciate any donation you can give, supporting me is simple just visit the website
