Hearing Dogs for Deaf People trains dogs to alert deaf people to important and life-saving sounds such as the smoke alarm, alarm clock, intruder alarms and baby monitors. These amazing dogs also help deaf people to leave loneliness behind by providing love, companionship and emotional support.

Story

Any donation is greatly appreciated.  We thank you very much for your support.  Running is not something that we find easy and we hope we just make it to the end to benefit this great charity.

Hearing loss is a hidden disability and in many cases leads to isolation.  Hearing dogs allows people to regain their independence and feel safe by having a trained canine companion to be with them throughout their daily lives.  Working in Audiology ourselves at Royal Berkshire Hospital we see first hand how debilitating hearing loss can be and although we aim to help where possible in some cases it isn't enough.  This amazing charity provides the training for dogs to enable those in the greatest need to live a full and rich life and we are proud to be supporting them as we make it over the 13 miles.  Your support is greatly appreciated.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
