On Sunday 25th September I am running a half marathon for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Leukemia is a type of cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow, the spongy center of bones where our blood cells are formed. The disease develops when blood cells produced in the bone marrow grow out of control. About 43,050 people are expected to develop leukemia in 2010. Lymphoma is the name for a group of blood cancers that develop in the lymphatic system. The two main types are Hodgkin lymphoma and non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). In 2010, about 628,415 people are living with lymphoma. This number includes about 153,535 people with Hodgkin lymphoma and 474,880 people with NHL.
Sparing just a few pennies or pounds could make a huge difference to the charity - helping them work on scientific research as well as providing financial assistance to patients. So please donate generously today!
It's not going to be easy but knowing I have your support will make it that little bit easier!
Thank you so much!
