Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Am I running the Manchester 10K in May to raise awareness and money for The Stroke Association. Every 5 minutes someone in the UK has a stroke, adding up to an estimated 150,000 people a year and The Stroke Association work very hard to help those affected as well as carrying out reasearch into the causes of stroke and into new treatments and therapies.

Here are some facts about strokes:

- Stroke is the 3rd most cmmon cause of death in Engand and Wales, after heart disease and cancer;

- Stroke accounts for around 53,000 deaths each year in the UK;

- 3 times more women die from stroke than breast cancer;

- 10,000 people under the age of 30 will have a stroke each year.

Any donation to support The Stroke Association would be REALLY APPRECIATED and will go a long way to helping those who have been affected by a stroke!

Thank you, L xxx
