Sharon battled with cancer for a few years and unfortunately in 2015 it had spread. It was in April 2015 that most of Sharon's friends and family found out about it as she had been keeping it to herself.

Sharon enjoyed adventures and loved to go out and about in her kayak and on her bike. She would even head off with friends or on her own to far and distant places around the world to explore different cultures and the natural world on land and sea. She enjoyed the simple things in life and appreciated natures wonders and certainly never wasted any time. Sharon lived for the moment and led a full and happy life doing what she enjoyed and spending time with people that she cared about.

In true Sharon spirit in the last few weeks before she went into St Barnabas she had me out with her on the bikes riding along the seafront, meeting with tennis club friends, taking pictures of the wildlife in Arundel and flying her new toy 'the drone' at her local park.

Sharon was a much loved daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Within us all she has instilled memories of her kind and caring nature. She has taught me that one of the biggest gifts you can give is time. Time with our friends and loved ones is precious and we should cherish every minute.

I spoke to Sharon about my interest in a group of us doing the triathlon and using her bike for the 10k ride part of the event, she was thrilled at the thought and said she would have liked to have taken part herself - in a way I think she will be.
