As many of you know my Dad, James Doyle, was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer on 18th June 2022. For the past year he has battled the bravest fight, where his strength, determination and sense of humour have kept us all going. Then on the days where we didn't feel as strong or needed support, the earth angels at the Hospice have carried us through.
In April this year, we were told that the cancer had advanced and there wasn't any more treatment available. To receive a terminal diagnosis and to manage everything that comes with that, it's certain to say we'd be lost without the support of the palliative care team. To continue to offer the exceptional service they do, they rely on donations to keep them providing support to families like ours.
Dad sadly passed away on 30th July 2023, so this event feels even more important to us now. He loved watching the donations and messages coming in, and set us a target of £5000!
We are also participating in this event in loving memory of Jan Spiller, who will always hold a special place in our hearts and was cared for by the Hospice team too 🌻
We are taking part in the Thames Hospice Sunflower walk. Whilst this walk may be a small challenge for us, we know what a difference the money will make to those patients and families who are facing the most difficult of challenges. Thames Hospice are here to ensure that patients and their families are cared for with the utmost compassion, dignity and respect. Every penny raised from the Sunflower walk will ensure that Thames Hospice can continue to provide compassionate care to those in the local community who need it now and in the future.
