I have two reasons for running the Great North Run for Percy Hedley Foundation, firstly they happen to be my employer Newcastle Building Society's current charity partner.  Secondly, and more importantly,  my son Dominic attended Percy Hedley's fantastic Hillcrest nursery several years ago and I am yet to run a half marathon to raise some money to say thank you! 

Dominic was rather high maintenance when he was younger (aren't all the best people?!?) and being able to find a nursery that could meet all his medical needs was fantastic.
