NHSG Gold DofE 2022-23 'Three Peaks Challenge' page

Three Peaks Challenge · 12 November 2022
We are a group of year 12 students at Newcastle High School for Girls who have embarked on our Gold Duke of Edinburgh's award 2022-23. We have to complete a practice and qualifying expedition for the expedition section of the award. We propose to do our practice expedition in Wales and to climb up Snowdon in late April 2023. We will embark on a trip to Scotland for qualifying and attempt to summit Ben Nevis as part of our qualifying expedition in late June. As an extra this year we are going to walk up Scafell Pike in the Lake District on Saturday 12th November 2022. We hope to raise some money for our school charity , the Children's Heart Unit Fund, CHUF at the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle as we take on these 3 challenges.
CHUF's mission is to make life better for children and young people who are born with or who develop heart conditions by providing lifelong support to them and their families. CHUF supports children and families who receive treatment at the Children’s Heart Unit based at the Freeman Hospital and the many other hospitals providing care for cardiac patients throughout the North of England.
Please give anything you can as we attempt to summit England, Wales and Scotland's highest peaks over the next 7 months
