Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page..

I am running the Lincoln 10K to raise money for Candles Cancer Charity. This charity supports pioneering cancer research and was established in 2001 by cancer survivors Dyllys Firth and Pam Connock from Skellingthorpe. All proceeds are donated to Professor Oleg Eremin, who conducts research into alternative cancer cures which looks at using the body's immune system to fight disease, rather than chemotherapy or radiotherapy.

After my own Leukemia battle my auntie Jenny began volunteering at the Candles shop and has told me about the great work they are doing. So far they have raised over 1 million pounds to help Professor Eremin! This is fantastic research which will change the treatment of Cancer. Chemo, which to beat the disease has to be stronger than it, can cause many complications and  further illnesses.

During my treatment I contracted Aspergillus and this resulted in me having to have a third of my left lung removed 14 months after my chemo stopped. Because of this, the training for this run has been that much harder and taken longer than normal, so please donate anything you can to help us all find a better treatment for for Cancer.

Thank you :)
