Having grown up in hard times many years ago, living in coucil housing & parents with low incomes. A couple cans of soup would feed a family of 6, bread & butter to dip. this was always seen as fun times as the bread would only last 1 sitting. Though I never felt hungry, refused food that was infront of me, or long for the feeling of stavation to go, I can empathsy with how close, challenging and near the brink our family were some 35years ago. Its sad to know things havent gotten better, sadly if anything worse.
In the current hard times, families, children and homeless are experiencing just that. No food, any means to get food or knowing when that next meal is coming. This is impacting all walks of
I can't imagine how that feels, emotionally, mentally and from a body that needs food to sustain.
The UK is a wealthy country, with means and opportunity for this not to excist intentionally. We need to make the difference, offering food banks, resources to provide food, people kind enough to deliver the food, and ultimately support to find away out of povity.
