Story

A group of us, who should probably know better, have decided to get together to do the Buachaille Dash on Saturday the 25th of June 2011. This was an event that used to be held at our school in Scotland (I didn’t do it at school for some reason?!)

WHAT IS IT? The Buachaille Dash is an endurance event/activity which involves a 30 mile round trip on foot between Rannoch Moor and Glen Coe and climbing a Munro in the middle.

Stage 1: Run 14ish miles from Rannoch Station to the foot of The Buachaille Etive Mor in Glen Coe.

Stage 2: Climb the to the summit of the Buachaille (1022 m) via the corrie

Stage 3: run/limp/hobble the 14ish miles back to Rannoch Station again

We will be running in memory of the dearly missed Charlotte Pitstra who was at Rannoch School from 1992-2000. Charlotte sadly passed away two years ago but was always up for taking on a challenge, so it seems fitting to do something similar in her memory and hopefully at the same time we can raise some funds for some of the causes that both her and her family supported.

Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by the sudden cardiac death. We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.
