Whyte and Mackay Round the World Challenge · 1 July 2020

Around since 1923, SAMH currently operates over 60 services in communities across Scotland. These services together with our national programme work in See Me, respectme, suicide prevention, sport and physical activity; inform our policy and campaign work to influence positive social change.

Story

This summer, alongside my colleagues at Whyte & Mackay we will be running, walking, cycling and rowing to collectively cover 24,901 miles - the length it takes to go around the world in 8 weeks.

We're aiming to raise £50,000 to donate to mental health charities around the world.

Those who know me well will know that mental health is a cause that has been deeply close to my heart for over a decade. The Covid-19 pandemic has only amplified the essential need for mental health services and to do my bit, I'm pledging to cover at least 10K a week for the next 8 weeks to raise funds for SAMH.

I'm not a natural runner and this will be be FIRST proper attempt at exercise after an unexpected surgery in March, so I really am starting from scratch! Any contribution you can make to our goal will be gratefully received - and every penny will really make a difference. Keep me fuelled - make a donation!
