Its the unthinkable isn't it?  To know that your child is going to die before you.  

No parent should know what it is to face that, but tragically many must.  Shooting Star Children's Hospices make the unbearable bearable.  The unthinkable thinkable.  They are there for everyone from diagnosis to end of life care and throughout bereavement.  They care for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, their families, and help make every moment count with nursing, practical, emotional, and medical care.

I don't know how they do it, I know I couldn't.  But I do know that somehow I can walk 26.2 miles to make a contribution to the £8.8m it costs to maintain the level of care they offer from their two facilities in Surrey and Hampton.  Well actually you will make the contribution, I'll just do the walking!

This is the Virgin London Marathon with a difference as it is Virtual.  This means I have 23 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds to complete it on 3 October 2021.  So I've got 8 weeks (ish) to get my feet and legs ready to spend 9 hours on the streets and you are most welcome to join me for as much time as you wish - provided you sponsor me!
