Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
1st of May marks ten years since my Mum took her own life. As a family myself and my two older brothers - Craig and Mark have decided to try and raise some funds for Scottish Association for Mental Health in our Mums memory. They aim to provide support to anyone in Scotland who is struggling with their mental health. This is something the three of us have struggled with since losing our Mum in horrific circumstances. The pandemic has further highlighted how prevalent suicide is in Scotland. There has been an increase in suicides across Scotland since covid began.
We hope to raise some money to aid this charity in their efforts while remembering mum and also reducing the awful stigma that remains around suicide and mental health.
We are a family who loves football and my Mum loved nothing more than spending her weekends watching Craig and Mark in their games or at Easter Road watching Hibs.
With the help of the local footballing community we will be holding a charity football match in the name of our mum. Please come along if you can and donate if you are in a position to do so.
Thank you for reading. Craig, Mark and Laura.
Football match will be held at Newbattle Complex in Easthouses, Midlothian. The home of Easthouses Lily Miners Welfare FC.
Kick off will be 1pm on Sunday May 1st.
Teams will be announced nearer the time. We will have a raffle after the match and refreshments will be available.
