Story
Many of you will know, I work for this incredible charity, who supports families of children with life limited and life threatening conditions.
We support families with their social, emotional and practical needs and can turn our hands to anything the families need; be it someone to run the hoover round the home, to putting together magical tea parties for those special birthdays and everything in between
One of the families who receives this support is Bellas family, whom I also support out of my charitable role through caring for Bella in her home and supporting her on trips out. Bella has a rare genetic condition that means she requires around the clock care and support. Bellas condition, SCN2A, means she suffers from multiple seizures, some of which lead to emergency hospital admissions and sometimes ventilation to allow her body to rest and recover. Bella requires a specialised diet and a multitude of medication just to try and keep her medically stable. Her care really is 24/7
But....
Bella is the happiest little 4 year old you will ever meet and her smile radiates through everyone lucky enough to meet her! Bella loves to be tickled, especially by her Daddy and we often hear here giggling away on Daddies shoulder.
Bella adores Disneys Frozen! Bellas eyes light up when she hears the Frozen soundtrack and often sings along in her own special way.
Bellas bravery, courage and zest for life is a true credit to her family and all that love her!
Bella and her family are supported by Sebastians Action Trust and they have enjoyed respite holiday breaks away together as a family, as well as coming along to sensory groups and art sessions. Bellas family are supported by Carla, an Outreach worker for Hampshire with Sebastians Action Trust who supports the family in the home and hospital. Carla is always at the end of the phone for the family and helps with all the practicalities of life with a seriously ill child, including helping with shopping, the mountains of paperwork as well as being a gentle listening ear when the family need her.
Families like Bellas would not be able to receive this support if it wasnt for generous donations raised through fundraising so I thought id do my bit to help!
Anyone Who knows me well, will know I HATE feet- anything to do with feet gives me the heeby geebies!
So on 23rd March, I am taking part ina firewalk to try to raise funds for the charity to help them to continue to support these amazing families!
If you can spare the cost of a coffee, all donations will be greatly appreciated
Thank you
