Why I’m raising money for Mind ❤️

In November 2024, I lost my big brother after he sadly took his own life following his struggles with his mental health.

There are no words to truly describe what losing someone you love in this way does to a family. The pain, the questions and the “what ifs” stay with you, and it has changed my life forever.

Mental health has always been something very important to me, but losing my brother has made me even more passionate about supporting organisations that help people who are struggling.

I also want to help shine a light on men’s mental health. Too many men still feel unable to talk about how they’re feeling, ask for help or admit when they’re struggling. I hope that by sharing my brother’s story, even in a small way, it might encourage someone to speak up, reach out and know that they don’t have to suffer in silence.

That’s why, throughout October, I’ll be taking on the challenge of walking 90 miles to raise money for Mind.

I’m doing this in memory of my brother, but also for anyone who is currently struggling with their mental health, and for the families and friends who are supporting them.

Mind provides vital support, information and advice to people experiencing mental health problems. By taking on this challenge, I hope I can help raise awareness and contribute towards the incredible work they do.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, means so much to me and will help make this challenge worthwhile.

For every mile I walk, I’ll be thinking of you. For every donation, I’ll know that we’re helping someone who may be struggling.
