Story
Firstly, I would like to thank you for looking at my page and considering sponsoring me.
As some of you know, my son Harry, who is now 25 years old, has suffered from suppuritive ototis media, which is a chronic ear condition all his life. This has meant that he has had to endure several major operations since the age of 5 years old.
These have included small ops such as grommets and T tube insertions, to larger ones, to remove diseased skull bone as well as removing unsafe cholesteatoma infections from his middle ear which continually reoccur. He now has amazing new implant technology helping him to hear a little. These operations are life saving. This illness does not go away and needs constant care from specialists to manage it. We all have a very positive outlook on the illness and Harry copes very well with the side affects which are hearing loss and pain. Harry has also taught himself how to lip read extremely well!
His illness has really inspired him, so much so, that he is now studying to become an Doctor himself, so that he can help others.
Harry is now in his final 2 years of studies at Brighton university and leads a completely normal life and manages to keep up with studies as well as hospital work.
His illness is managed through a wonderful team of people at the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital in London. We cannot praise them enough. Mr Lavy and his team work extremely hard on helping and treating Harry! For this reason I would like to raise any amount of money to help them keep providing the service that they do so well and to help contribute back for what they provide to us which is priceless!
So here goes!
I am dedicated to enjoying my short regular runs at the moment, getting outside all weathers, seeing green and enjoying the outdoors. So why waste this? I am up for another tough challenge which is to complete the Brighton Marathon with a goal of under 4 hours.
With a long training program ahead for 16 weeks, I shall keep you updated with my progress in achieving this goal!
So may I please ask you to consider sponsoring me to undertake this challenge. Every small amount really will benefit the Hospital for both its research and providing care to children and adults like Harry!
Thank you so very much Indeed xxxx
